Search without fairy tales.
A useful library needs actual pages, useful answers and reasons for people to find it.
The app is not the acquisition strategy
Search, bookmarks and interactive challenges can improve the learning experience. They do not by themselves create demand. Start with questions your intended customers genuinely need answered.
For a makeover business, useful topics include recognising a confusing homepage, planning a replacement, protecting existing search traffic and checking that enquiries arrive. A large collection of unrelated technology news may attract the wrong audience while consuming your publishing time.
No secret ranking sauce.
Quite a lot of useful work.
Give each useful answer an address
Google documents ordinary HTML links with an href as the reliable form for crawlable links. In this playbook, lessons have their own URLs and readable HTML content; search and progress features enhance that foundation.
Write descriptive page titles and internal links. Let the introduction answer the actual question. Sources, review dates and visible limitations help a reader evaluate the advice rather than accept an anonymous verdict.
Separate preview from production
A draft site should not compete with the real business site in search. This replacement preview is deliberately noindexed. At approved launch, check indexing directives, canonical URLs, a sitemap and migration redirects together.
Google does not guarantee that compliant pages will be crawled, indexed or served. Do not sell an educational app as guaranteed traffic. Treat its contribution as a hypothesis to measure.
Measure relevance, not applause
Watch which questions bring people to the site, whether they read related examples and whether enquiries are suitable. A lesson read is useful engagement; it is not automatically a lead. Improve the pages and distribution against what you observe.
A practical checklist
- Publish each lesson as readable HTML at a stable URL.
- Use normal descriptive links and a reviewed production sitemap.
- Measure relevant visits and qualified enquiries without promising rankings.
A little judgement call.
Read the explanation
Public, linked lesson pages give readers and crawlers directly accessible material. They do not guarantee rankings, but avoid unnecessarily hiding the value behind the interface.
A learning exercise, not an expertise score. No answers are sent anywhere.
